Pushcart Prize Nominations 2020

by Silver Webb

There are many fun parts to my job as editrix, one of which is the chance to select stories from Borda Books and Lit Jo that I feel merit nomination for the Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses. The winners of this contest will have their work published in the yearly anthology that Pushcart Press produces.

There were so many well-crafted stories and poems from this year, but I am only able to nominate six pieces, and this year I selected:

From Santa Barbara Literary Journal Volume 5: Wild Mercury:

“Thelonius” by Aram Saroyan

“To Heal the World” by Laezer Schlomkowitz

“The Mayor of Flashback” by M. M. De Voe

From Delirium Corridor, which will be published in December of this year:

"City of Illumination" by Jack Eidt

"Rainy Season" by Zane Andrea

"Man with the Acid Handshake" by Max Talley

I'd like to thank these authors for trusting me with their work and pursuing their craft with diligence. My fingers and toes are crossed that the Pushcart editors see it the same way I do!

Best,

Silver Webb
